Animal Hero Award 2

C.A.R.I.A.D. FOUNDER RECEIVES ANIMAL HERO AWARD

C.A.R.I.A.D. founder Linda Goodman was presented with the People’s Postcode Lottery Local Hero Award at the Animal Hero Awards on Monday, 30th September.

Here’s what Linda had to say: “It was extremely humbling to receive this amazing Animal Hero Award on Monday night and huge thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery for sponsoring my Local Hero award. It was also a huge thrill to be presented with my award by the wonderful Paul O’Grady. The atmosphere at the awards was quite extraordinary, so warm and genuine and in some cases deeply moving. The hosts were superb as was the delicious vegan menu. And it was just brilliant to be sitting around a table of people I love and respect including my incredible C.A.R.I.A.D. colleague Sue Davey, Lisa Garner and puppy farm survivor Plum Pudding who accompanied me onto the stage, the brave Dave Wardell and beautiful Finn, Eileen Jones – founder of Friends of Animals Wales who is the reason I founded C.A.R.I.A.D. in the first place having adopted two ex puppy farm breeding girls from her years ago, and of course my superhero buddy Marc Abraham, with our adored patron Peter Egan close by. It was a night I will always treasure and such a morale booster for what lies ahead.”

Here’s Linda and the wonderful Paul O’Grady backstage at the awards:
